Good Grief #@$&%

There’s nothing good that comes out of the death of your mother.

I just loss my BFF today, my sister, my sidekick, my ride or die chick, my mom.
I’m alone in this world now. This death has me questioning God, and asking him why he killed my mom? Has anyone else asked your self this same question and if so where do you stand on religion now?”

Please do not be alarmed these are just a few insensitive comments that well-intention people will say to you before, during, or after your mother’s funeral. As I previously stated they mean well but do not know any better. This is why the I Was Her Angel and other grief support organizations must come together and educate folks on what to say and what not to say to people who are grieving the loss of family members, friends, or pets.

If you’re sick of dealing with insensitive comments about the death of your mother regardless of whether or not they are intentional or unintentional. Please visit the Grief Articles Page for help or information on how to handle these negative hurtful comments. You don’t deserve it nor do you have to put up with this type of treatment, we must begin to teach those that do not know any better. This behavior is not acceptable nor should you tolerated it by family, friends, neighbors or coworkers.

If your sentence begins with at least STOP!

At lease she didn’t die of lung cancer

Did she smoke or drink?

You need to move on

Everything happens for a reason Stay strong

She’s in a better place now

Did she go to the doctor?

What size shoes does your mother wear?

Now you can do what you want to do

You can handle it you’re a trooper you’ll be alright

Stop talking about your mother all the time

When are you returning to work?

I need your mother’s death certificate for your leave request

I wish I could get rid of my mother just joking

So to all of you insensitive folks out there please we’re begging you. Please stop talking Gawdddd (GOdddd). Sit back and relax because your upsetting and offending us.
