My BFF Makes ‘Your Mom’ Jokes About My Dead
Mom — and I Love Her for It!

Ordinarily, I would find most mom jokes, especially dead mom jokes or memes, extremely distasteful. However, I find myself more and more each day thinking about the wacky, crazy trouble my mom use to get herself into with that sassy mouth of hers. Mom was a well-read woman, yes, indeed, and it served her well in certain situations. Later at home, we both would die laughing about her adventures of the day. Iris had a remarkable sense of humor, and I think she would approve of the mom joke page. After-all she and I still laughed about my crazy grandma her mother’s antics after she passed on. Believe it or not, sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying when you lose special people in your life.

When you read these jokes, memes, quotes, and illustrations, I want you to think about way back in the days when you where young and your mom was a young mother. Get the picture I knew you would. If you have your own children now and they’re kicking your, butt that’s just mom up in heaven laughing and saying I told you so, payback is a bitch, lol.

Jokes

A woman gets on a bus with her baby. The bus driver says, “That’s the ugliest baby that I’ve ever seen. Ugh!” The woman goes to the rear of the bus and sits down, fuming. She says to a man next to her, “The driver just insulted me!” The man says, “You go right up there and tell him off – go ahead, I’ll hold your monkey for you.”

Quotes

“But this you must know: the violent murder of a mother- when a boy is at the tender age, when he is just discovering girls- it is a terrible thing. confusingly mixed up with all the things feminine, it leaves a charred residue on the soul, like the black marks found at the bottom of a burned pot. no matter how much you scrub and scrub the pot bottom with steel wool and cleansers, the scars, they are permanent”
Richard C. Morais, The Hundred-Foot Journey

“Like a deep sad note
played beneath the ocean
waving through the orb
the memories of you
the bittersweet echoes
infixed forever in my heart”
Pawan Mishra

“I wonder if my first breath was as soul-stirring to my mother as her last breath was to me”
Lisa Goich-Andreadis, 14 Days: A Mother, A Daughter, A Two Week Goodbye

“I love you too,’ I thought. ‘Mom, I don’t mind if you embarrass me anymore. It really doesn’t bother me. Why did you have to go?”
William Staikos, Untold Deception

“You breathe upon us now
through solid assertions
of yourself: teaspoons, goblets,
seas of carpet, a forest
of old plants to be watered
an old man in an adjoining
room to be touched and fed.
And all this universe
dares us to lay a finger
anywhere, save exactly
as you would wish it done.”
Adrienne Rich

“The mother memories that are closest to my heart are the small gentle ones that I have carried over from the days of my childhood. They are not profound, but they have stayed with me through life, and when I am very old, they will still be near.” — Margaret Sanger
