Please be aware of aggressive or misleading sales tactics from funeral home morticians and directors it can lead to a substantially higher bill. In fact, It may be a good idea to take someone you trust with you when setting up funeral arrangements for your mom until you can get yourself together emotionally and mentally. This is prime time for funeral home staff to take advantage of you when you’re confused, dazed and in shock over the death of your mother (parent).
Don’t let them hoodwink you with the glitzy, glamorous new wave funeral homes coming up to you smiling and shit remember that old song Smiling Faces hey they don’t tell the truth. It just kills me how they getting away with charging grievers these astronomically high fees. Approaching you shaking or holding your hands and patting you on the back like they really care and that they’re doing you a favorite its a business and that’s all. When the truth is its the other way around most of them don’t care and they’re not doing you a favor we’re doing them a favor by purchasing there services and products, period.
When my mom past away I visited the mortician and made her funeral arrangements but with one change I wanted to purchase the very same casket the funeral home offered but for a much higher price with a casket from Amazon casket products. This was the exact same casket but it was less expensive but I was told that if I purchased a casket online that they would not honor the package plan that I selected earlier that week. This is just another way for the funeral homes to fleece the consumer who is budget-conscious and distraught. Had I continued with purchasing the casket from amazon I would have had to pay for all funeral supplies and products individually which would have increased my mom’s funeral by thousands of dollars, ya exactly a freakin rip off. Oh and don’t bother seeking help from the FTC or Board of Morticians & Funeral Directors because all they do is regulate bullshit like the price list and other nonsense, they’re probably behind the funeral home around back with the staff, jerking each other off. As I’ve stated numerous times in the past there’s nothing good that happens before, during, or after a funeral, trust.
At the end of the day eventually, I purchased the supposedly budget package from the funeral home because I was still in shock from my mom’s sudden death, in fact, I passed out after the funeral. This is your mother and you have the right to do what you want or follow your mom’s instruction that she left behind for her funeral arrangements. Hey, as long as you and your family can feel good about your decisions and can sleep at night regarding how you laid your mom to rest then that’s all that matters, regardless of how much it cost.
