This was the most depressing 4th of July Holiday ever mostly because this was the first one I have experienced without my mother being alive. I slept all day long getting up intermittently to feed the dogs and cats, checking on my uncle and to drink a Glucerna. My Mom would always put up small American flags around the property for Veterans Day, Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. She was a patriotic lady but she didn’t go overboard with it, you know what I mean? How was your 4th of July without mother?
